IDEAL BREWING TEMPERATURE: 85ºC/185ºF. For Food Safety reasons bring water to 100ºC/212ºF and let it cool down to 85ºC/185ºF.

HOT BREWING METHOD:
Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 slightly heaping teaspoon of loose tea for each 7-9oz / 200-260ml of fluid volume in the teapot. Briefly infuse with freshly boiled water and then pour off. Re-infuse the tea and pour after about 1 minute or longer to taste.

ICED TEA BREWING METHOD (Individual Serving):
Place 1 slightly heaping teaspoon of loose leaf or 1 tea bag into a teapot for each serving required. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 6-7oz/170-200ml per serving over the tea leaves. Cover and let steep for 5 minutes. Add hot tea to a 12oz/375ml acrylic glass filled with ice, straining the tea leaves, or removing the bags. Not all of the tea will fit, allowing for approximately an additional ½ serving. Sweeten and/or add lemon to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced herbal tea is to increase the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted

Cautions

Consult a healthcare practitioner before taking it if you have diabetes. There is limited evidence from preclinical studies that burdock may have hypoglycemic activity. Use by adults with renal failure and/or diabetes, and/or heart failure should be avoided because of possible complications due to hyperkalemia. Consult a healthcare practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen.

Contraindications

Do not use if you are allergic to plants of the Asteraceae/Compositae/Daisy family, such as burdock or dandelion. If hypersensitivity or allergic reactions occur, discontinue use. Do not use it if you have gallbladder disorder, obstruction of the biliary tract, acute gallbladder inflammation, or in the case of active peptic ulcer. Discontinue use if you develop symptoms of liver trouble. Do not use if you have liver disorders, and/or bowel obstruction. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding.

Known Adverse Reactions

In sensitive individuals, mild gastrointestinal upset (nausea, vomiting and diarrhea) or allergic reactions (itching, exanthema, hives) may occur from the use of stinging nettle. The frequency is not known. Discomfort due to gastric hyperacidity may occur after taking herbs that contain bitter substances like dandelion.
