The Study

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the sexual effects of the spice (Myristica fragrans), its side effects, and its toxicity. Various doses were given for seven days to different and sildenafil (a pharmaceutical used for sexual problems) was given to some for comparison. The animals were observed throughout the whole time for sexual activity. Nutmeg has been found to contain plant sterols.
